The most daunting task in the production of the book was getting clean images of the older covers and artwork. Almost 200 covers had to be individually scanned and digitally retouched to present them in close-to-original condition.

 


 

 

This perfect-bound soft-cover book was a marketing promotion for LA Weekly. They printed a relatively high number — I believe over 10,000. Many of the issues were given away at events during the anniversary year. In a separate project, I created a media kit for LA Weekly with a special pouch for this book, which let them distribute most of the remaining copies.
