Artillery is a terrific example of how we are able to tailor our service to each client’s needs. Artillery’s editor and owner, Tulsa Kinney, wanted to elevate the look of her two-year-old art magazine but could not substantially increase their expenses Working within their budget, we were able to do a progressive redesign which was folded into the cost of producing the actual issues. In that way, Artillery had a new look after three issues without incurring a huge bill.

__ We also split the production duties with Tulsa’s own staff: designSimple laying out the cover and features and Artillery handling the columns and other more heavily formatted pages. Artillery also takes care of their own press delivery of files, which gives them more time to refine stories and lets them further control production costs. It’s great to work with such a smart and irreverent publication. Artillery is further proof that even in a hostile publishing climate, with some hard work and intelligent management, it is possible for young print publications to survive and grow.
